A Weekend of Dance, Inspiration & Connection
Step away from the everyday rush and immerse yourself in a weekend dedicated to dance, inspiration, connection and simply enjoying being together.
From March 19th to 21st, 2027, join us in beautiful Ljubljana, Slovenia, for the 4th edition of Spring Oriental Dreamtensive – this time in a new format, with a 2-day intensive led by Shahrzad and Mateja.
At SOD, we believe that dance is about more than learning choreography. It’s about understanding your body, listening to the music, exploring your creativity and finding your own way of expressing yourself.
This year, we’re creating space for deep technique and inspiration, but also for slowing down, reflecting and connecting – with yourself, with other dancers and with the beautiful community we create together.

Join us for our special gala dance evening, LAMMA, featuring invited dancers from Slovenia and abroad, with Shahrzad as our special guest.

Meet our teachers
Shahrzad
Shahrzad is a professional dance instructor and performer specializing in Raqs Sharqi, traditional and social dances of North Africa and the Middle East. With over 20 years of dance experience, she began training at the age of 11 and started her professional career as a teacher and performer in the US.
After gaining international recognition through her performances and instructional DVDs, Shahrzad moved to Egypt in 2015, where she established herself as a sought-after performer and teacher, appearing on stage, in film and media.
She is also the founder of Shahrzad Studios, offering online dance education, private dance and music programmes in Cairo, and tours of Egypt.
Today, she divides her time between teaching workshops around the world, running her business in Cairo, and performing and teaching at special events across Egypt.
Mateja
With over 20 years of experience in oriental dance, Mateja Mikulan is a dancer, choreographer and dance educator, and the driving force behind Spring Oriental Dreamtensive. Her style is known for exceptional musicality, expressive movement and a blend of classical oriental dance with modern influences.
Throughout her career, Mateja has performed, choreographed, taught and organised numerous dance events and workshops. She is the founder of Mawahib and co-founder of the renowned Nawar Oriental Dance Festival, which she led for almost a decade.
For Mateja, dance is much more than movement - it is music, emotion, storytelling and connection. She is passionate about helping dancers develop their technique while finding their own voice and joy in dance.
Fun fact: When she’s not dancing, Mateja enjoys Cuban dances and creates boutique cakes and desserts under her brand Matya.

To have a festival right here in Ljubljana at our doorstep, where we can learn from international ansamble of dance teachers, is a kind of luxury, that does not happen often anymore.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1.Basic information:
The event organiser is MATYA, Mateja Mikulan s.p. (referred to as "the organiser"). By buying the "pass" or "workshop", you agree to the terms of participation.
2. Terms of participation:
To attend the event, it is mandatory to complete the registration and make the payment in the timeline, provided by the organiser. The proforma invoice will be send to your email address in 3-5 days after the registration (sender: [email protected])
3. Refund policy:
If you do not attend the event, we cannot provide a refund. A change of name is possible if the organiser agrees. The attendee must find a replacement on its own and let know the details to the organiser.
4.Event recording:
The event may be partially or fully photographed or recorded. Photos and videos may be used for promotional and documentation purposes. By attending, you agree that your image may appear in these recordings. These may be shared in publications and on social media.
5.Limitation or Liability:
The organiser is not responsible for any personal injuries or loss/damage to personal belongings during the event. Attendees are responsible for their own safety and belongings.
6.Schedule changes:
The organiser reserves the right to update the event schedule. All the possible changes will be published and shared with the attendees via the email address provided in the registration form.
